The BBC quote HCC as saying they spent £5.45 million on the Procurement, and the Planning Process cost £460,000 including £400,000 for the Public Inquiry.

Welwyn Hatfield Borough Council spent £190,000 opposing the incinerator.

To the best of my knowledge these are the other costs incurred in opposing the proposed incinerator:

1. New Barnfield Action Fund £92,645

This paid for legal and consultants' costs
and this came from:
Donations from the public (including some via Hatfield against Incineration)
North Mymms Green Belt Society
Hatfield Town Council
Welwyn Hatfield Borough Council
North Mymms Parish Council

Gascoyne Cecil Estates (Hatfield House).
(The costs and contribution of Gascoyne Cecil Estates have been included within the overall NBAF figure, as they used the same legal team at the Public Inquiry)

2. Hatfield against Incineration spent £5135 on campaigning costs, from 2010 to 2014, on leaflets, meetings, protests, insurance etc, and this came from donations from the public. HAI donated any funds raised above this amount to New Barnfield Action Fund.

3. English Heritage also had legal costs, but the figure is not known.

Many, many people gave their time and skills and other support, without any payment.
