SIMPLE RESPONSE FORM FOR NEW WASTE SITES CONSULTATION

Useful DocumentsPosted by Cathy Sat, November 10, 2012 11:05:39

Post to:Spatial and Land Use Planning,CHN216,Herts CC, County Hall, Hertford,SG13 8DN

Or email to: spatialplanning@hertscc.gov.uk

SIMPLE RESPONSE FORM

(provided by Hatfield Against Incineration www.hatfield-anti-incineration.co.uk)

RESPONSE TO CONSULTATION ON

PROPOSED SUBMISSION WASTE SITE ALLOCATIONS 2012

PART 1. RESPONDENT’S DETAILS

NAME:

ADDRESS:

SIGNATURE:

PART 2

My Representation relates to Allocated Site Number AS048 (map 039) New Barnfield

PART 3

I consider the document to be unsound

PART 4

I consider the document to be unsound because it is not based on proportionate evidence

and it is not the most appropriate strategy when considered against reasonable alternatives.

PART 5

I consider the document to be unsound because New Barnfield is not a suitable site for waste management because Waste Management Facilities on this site would cause:-

1. VISUAL INTRUSION

over a school for children with special needs, homes, public spaces, historic listed sites, and a very wide area.

2. TRAFFIC NOISE, POLLUTION, CONGESTION AND DANGER

a. on the access road passing Southfield School,

b. on the section of Travellers Lane leading south towards the site,

c. on South Way and the Travellers Lane/South Way roundabout, passing homes,

d. and at Junctions 2 and 3 of the A1(M).

3. LOSS OF GREEN AREAS IN THE GREEN BELT

The site is also part of the Watling Chase Community Forest

and is covenanted not to be used for any noisy or offensive trade.

4. LOSS OF AMENITIES FOR LOCAL PEOPLE

A Resources Library would be lost.

Footpaths, a cycle-route, and a Nature-Walk with ponds circle it.

5. DANGER TO HEALTH

The site is immediately next to a school, and very close to homes.

There would be danger to health from traffic and from emissions from a waste facility.

6. LOSS OF PROTECTED WILDLIFE

Wildlife includes rare birds, and legally-protected bats and great-crested newts.

Acid would be deposited on Wildlife Sites, Nature Reserves and historic parks & gardens.

MORE RESPONSES TO VEOLIA'S ORIGINAL PLANNING APPLICATION

Useful DocumentsPosted by Cathy Sat, June 16, 2012 08:42:19

The closing date for responses to Veolia's original Planning Application was Jan 31st 2012.

Note there is now a further consultation, on additional information that Veolia has submitted - closing date June 29th (for details see below on this website).

Herts County Council has been posting some of the responses to the original consultation on its hertsdirect website, under "new barnfield planning", " Responses from Statutory Consultees and Other Interested Parties". This list was recently updated. Summaries of these responses (summaries made by HAI) are attached.

HCC have also sent the responses from Southfield School and from Mitsubishi to HAI , because we asked to see these, and summaries of these are attached.

If your organisation sent a response to the original Planning Application, but it is not included in these lists, please contact Iain Leech at New Barnfield Planning, at County Hall, Hertford, and ask him to display your organisation's response in the hertsdirect website list. Please let HAI know as well.
